The Watch, The Thief, The Hand, and The Wallet is a museum exhibit exploring how perspective and context affect interpretation. Users combine video clips of the same event—the theft of a wallet—shot from different angles. By changing the camera view, users can construct the scene in such a way that different people appear guilty of the theft.

The exhibit was first installed in the Exploratorium in 2001. Originally developed in Macromedia Director, the exhibit was updated to Flash in 2012.
